„Due to the European refugee crisis the Schwarzwald Baar region had to take in approximately 6,000 refugees from various countries a few months ago. Every day the number of refugees grew larger, including at the central emergency room of the Schwarzwald Baar Clinic. Communicating with patients, however, was hardly possible because within the clinic’s existing group of interpreters hardly anyone could speak the languages in demand. Consequently, good and adequate diagnosis was hardly ever possible, despite it being a prerequisite for medical treatment. VRI services have filled this gap extraordinarily well and physicians as well as patients are delighted with this means of communication. This tool is now being used for doctors’ visits and consultations in the entire clinic and it has become indispensable in our daily routine.“Dr. Bernhard Kumle, Head of the central emergency room
