„Particularly in psychiatry, where words are of particular importance, video interpretation is used for establishing the medical history, psycho-pathological symptoms and diagnostics as a prerequisite for differential and adequate planning of the treatment, and above all, for building rapport with the patients, who are given the opportunity to use their native language for describing their complaints, and often take the tablet as an auxilliary medium and would not let go of it. In emergencies, video interpretation contributes to quick acquisition of informaion. To date, I have had no technical issues. It is fascinating how user friendly the system is and how competent the interpretation has always been, particularly in the use of medical terminology. The general impression is that in the outpatient department for psychiatric health of St Josef Genaral Hospital Braunau I have had only good experience with video interpretation and would like to point out that the quality standard has improved and the communication with patients of migration backgroud has become significantly easier. “OA Dr. Monika Putz, Psychiatric Health
